Business Card CD's - FAQs

What is a CD business card?
It is a business card sized CD rom, replicated the same way and with the same quality materials of a standard CD-ROM.

How does it work if it isn't round.
The card fits in the inner tray of a standard CD Rom.
These cards will not play in imacs or pcs with vacuum loading cd rom players or Car stereo Cd players.

What is the size of the card?
The card can be created in many custom shapes but the most popular size is the CD Business Card measuring 58mm x 80mm in diameter.

How much information can the card hold?
The CD Business Card holds approx 40 MB.

What does that translate into?
The 40mb CD Business Card holds a minimum of 3 ½ minutes of video. We have seen as much as 100 minutes of interactive presentation in 40 MB. Most small business websites could fit completely on a Business Card CD.

Why the variation in time of content?
It depends on what the client desires and in what format the information is presented. The minimum time is based on full video e.g. a movie clip or TV commercial. The maximum time is based on interactive presentation in Shockwave Flash or similar technology.

Can the content be text based?
Yes, if that is what the client desires. For example, if a client wishes to distribute a training manual to a large group. This text could be placed on a CD-card and mailed to each person in a very cost-effective manner. Another example: The makers of a new prescription medication would like to give their presentation to busy doctors. We could place a one-minute commercial on the card along with all of the medical notes and information.

What information may I supply for the art and content?
This is entirely up to you the client. You can submit material in virtually any format. From as little information as "here is my current business card and my brochure", to as much as "here is my art in PhotoShop and my complete video in Shockwave."

What are the minimum requirements of a computer for the performance of the CD-card?
It depends on the programming. Generally speaking this card is for the PC. If the PC has a CD-ROM drive and Windows 95, 98 or NT it will work. If the client wants the card programmed for Windows 3x users, this may also be arranged.

What is the total production time?
From order placement to delivery three to five weeks. But if you need it quicker we will definitely work with you.

Are the cards scratch resistant?
Yes. The same is true with most CDs.

How much does the CD-card weigh?
About half the weight of a CD-Rom
